Environmental Stewardship
At Johns Manville, we are more than OEM insulation products. We are dedicated to energy conservation. We are concerned about indoor air quality, and the health and well-being of our customers. We strive to be good stewards of the environment. We are committed to building a better tomorrow around the world.
JM Leads the Industry in Promoting a Healthier Environment
In our manufacturing process, JM incorporates an average of 25 percent recycled glass content across North America. That content (as certified by Scientific Certification Systems) includes at least 20 percent post-consumer and the balance post-industrial recycled glass-more than double the certified post-consumer recycled content of any other major fiber glass insulation. All that adds up to 90,000 tons of recycled content in JM fiber glass insulation each year.
We care about clean air, too. We are the only fiber glass insulation manufacturer to use pollution prevention measures to reduce annual hazardous emissions by more than 200,000 pounds. And the U.S. EPA has recognized the JM move to Formaldehyde-free™ fiber glass insulation by awarding JM the insulation industry's only exemption from EPA's fiber glass insulation Hazardous Air Pollutant regulations.
